Single Storey Dwelling (Example 01)
The proposal was for an elderly couple who wanted a single storey dwelling with minimal steps. Provision for a motor home to fit parked on the property, 3 bedrooms, living space at the front opening onto alfresco taking advantage of the northern aspect, and a rear garden area in the triangular section at the rear.
The block being an odd shape made it tricky to get the spaces to work as the client wanted, but in the end the design ticked all the boxes. The proposal was also located in a Mine Subsidence Pothole zone, so it needed to be designed in accordance with Mines guidelines, including no raft or waffle pod slabs.
